Many people think that Japanese is a very complicated language. Japanese is not easy for Westerners; its many nuances and unique rules are unfamiliar to most people. It is, however, a rich and fascinating language and you will eventually become used to its rules. Many people are afraid to learn Japanese, thinking that it will just be too difficult. What you have to realize is that everyone has the ability to learn several languages! You just have to be willing to work hard and put in the time. Just make up your mind that you will become fluent in Japanese, and you can make it a reality. If you read and apply some of these tricks, you can make your Japanese study a little simpler.
Nothing will boost your progress more than repetition. Your everyday language can come in handy by repeating the words that you normally use over to Japanese on a regular basis. Do it as often as possible. These simple exercises will make your brain adapt to making connections between objects you see and language you hear in; your mind will start to make these connections very fast after a while. Increased levels of speed will result from your efforts. This will help you quite a bit as you learn new ways of speaking and reading and writing in Japanese and it will come in very handy if you travel to Japan or somewhere else that uses Japanese as its major tongue. Keep practicing this one simple method and the time will come when you won't even need to use your Japanese dictionary.
Another good habit to get into is reading Manga. Manga are a form of Japanese illustrated novels that have also been translated into many other languages. This is another enjoyable way to learn, and is great for improving your reading skills. You can start to learn what characters mean and become familiar with Japanese written material, which is the reverse of what you are used to, going from right to left on each page and from back to front. The translation into your language will also teach you about popular speech and slang. Things like Manga and Anime can teach you things you won't get from taking a class! Keep in mind when you look for Manga that these are often quite explicit!
Listen to your Japanese language learning CDs and mp3s when you are doing other things. Naturally, there is great benefit to straightforward study, when you pay attention and practice your drills and assignments. There is also something to be said for learning subconsciously. Try this, and just play your Japanese programs while you are busy around the house, driving or doing anything else. A portion of your brain will be registering all these words, and this will really make learning easier. Believe it or not, you do remember things whether you are trying to or not! There is also a theory that you can even learn while you are sleeping, so you could try learning Japanese in your sleep!
Japanese is a worthwhile and commendable language to study. You may have some difficulties when you start studying Japanese, but once you really learn it, you will remember it and then you'll have a whole new language! When it comes to traveling and learning about other cultures, there would be no better skill to have! If you wanted to watch Anime and not have to struggle with subtitles, you'd be able to.That's one fun use of your new language. Naturally, knowing Japanese would be especially good if you ever want to travel to Japan. Then, if you ever want to study another Eastern language, it would be much simpler to do. It's unquestionable that learning another language can only help you!
