For many women, after high school they choose to marry or go straight into the work force to support themselves and their family. While others go to college only to give up for the same reasons. Later in life they come to the realization that they would like to return to school to further their education or to improve their skills for a better job. But money is usually what stops them. That is why many school grants for women are available today to give those women the advantage and help they need.
Women today now have the options of a variety of different foundations and associations that help them get back into school with grants and scholarships. Some grants are for women who are thirty-five or older with a low income. Other grants may focus on a specific career field like math or science. Even women with some college education who hold an undergraduate degree can get help to improve that degree.
One popular foundation works with adult women who are least thirty-five years old and have a low income get into school. All they require is for the woman to prove to them how a degree will better her life and her family. They also want the woman to show them how the degree will help her better society and the community. If the woman can do that, a grant of $2000 is offered.
When it comes to family, it is usually the woman who must stop working to care for them while the man continues to hold his career and advance. And, when a woman has to stop working for things like having a baby, she can find it hard to get back into the work force. One foundation is set up to help women re-enter the job market with the necessary skills they needs to find a good job. The scholarship offered ranges from $2000 to $4000.
An accounting degree is another option for a woman today using a grant. The accounting field has a foundation set up to help a woman pursue a degree in that field now. Since there are no restrictions on age or minority, women of all ages and backgrounds are able to apply. A grant from this foundation is usually between $1000 and $5000.
Some women who already have an undergraduate degree, but want to take it further. For them, there are fellowships and grants available to do so. One foundation offers grants between five and twenty thousand dollars to women to further their degree and it is usually in fields such as math, sciences, engineering, statistics, and so on.
Although there are a lot of associations and private foundations out there that help women return to school, they are not the only areas to look into. Some state and government programs also offer grants to women that want an education in the high-need areas, like health. There are grants for nursing schools and health care positions where there is a need of qualified people.
There are a lot of ways for a woman to return to school today without having to worry about the costs. There are many foundations and associations whose goal is to help women get back in school and obtain the higher education they want. Don't let worrying about money stop you from doing what you want to do, research which grant would fit what you want and apply.
