English is the dominant language throughout the whole world. It is the language of business and commerce; the internet is almost overwhelmingly written in English. The number of people who converse in this mother tongue every day is absolutely staggering. But there is one country which steadfastly refuses to cow to the prevailing winds and re brand itself in an English speaking manner. That nation is France. In order to be able to converse with the average Frenchman or woman well, it is vitally important to speak on their terms. For that reason, French tutors can prove highly useful.
This Gallic nation is one of a kind because it is one of only a smattering of western countries which has not accepted English hegemony in writing and speaking. Indeed, so much so does it want to protect its own kind that it has created a formal group of scholars who vet each and every word which will be used in the national dictionary. This official decree is almost unique in the globe. They are strongly combative against having foreign words entering their dictionary.
As a result, if someone wants to be able to keep up their end of a conversation with the average person in France, they will need to learn the language. For many this is daunting. But it should not be - for example, a large proportion of the English language is from France originally.
Anglo Saxons invaded England and brought over their own intonation and words with them. This became assimilated into the English language and was popular. For example, words like beef and mutton come from the way people from France referred to their animals. Because it also shares a similar alphabet and sentence structure, it is not too hard to pick up.
People in the west are inordinately lazy when it comes to bothering to learn other people's languages. Because, they reason, everyone else seems to speak English passably, there is no point in them picking up Italian or German. This however is terribly detrimental to the minds of those who are only monoglots (speaking one tongue), both in terms of pleasure and business dealings.
Being able to speak more than one language has huge benefits to people. It is proven to improve brain function in the smartest people, and can give people a chance to be more gregarious in their social interaction with foreigners. People who are in foreign lands on business or pleasure can reap the benefits of being able to talk in different ways.
The ability to sit in a cafe in France and ask for a milky coffee and a croissant is understated. It is the pinnacle of achievement, and gives people inordinate pride. Moreover, the ordinarily standoffish locals will often soften when they realize a person is making a concerted effort to converse.
The vast majority of foreigners who do not speak English as their first language are bilingual. Western English speakers stand alone in their monolingualism. For that reason, being able to speak in two different tongues can be very impressive, and separate people from the pack. This can help enormously in business, where people are beginning to enroll in classes with French tutors Toronto to improve their skills.
