Anyone Can Apply For Federal US Government Grants

by Dante Mannina

When you have the desire to do something, but find out that it is too expensive to do or you lack the resources to complete it, this can be very discouraging. I find that this is very disheartening for many people, especially when it comes to finances; because as we all know, money is not that easy to attain.

Living on paycheck to paycheck is not exactly an easy thing for anyone. If this happens, many people find it difficult to try to do other things they may want to do because of the lack in resources. Constantly borrowing money or applying for a loan is not always a good thing.

When you loan money, you may be able to get the money right away; however, if you keep on doing it, you may end up spending many years just paying all the money back. It is a good thing that the U.S government has created a means to help people out. They are able to help them through U.S. government grants.

Title 31 Section 6304 of the U.S code incorporated the federal grant. The Federal Grant and Cooperative Agreement Act of 1997 are responsible for this grant. These grants give economic assistance given by the government out of the general federal revenue.

People who receive the grants need to support and be the one responsible to start any kind of public deed that is authorized by the U.S. government. Grants are not only given by the government, but even private non-profit organizations like foundations and others also give out grants to people who would benefit from it.

There are many different types of grants being offered. There are project grants which the government gives in order to help fund research projects. Medical research would be a good example of why they would offer it.

Another grant would be the formula grant that is dictated by the law and is given by the government. An earmark grant is also being issued. This is specifically appropriated by the U.S government. It is also a controversial grant due to several issues that go along with it.

People are sometimes criticizing the grants being given by the federal government or the state. Some think that there are too many regulations, and they feel that some small businesses are not given a fair opportunity to receive the grants.

But, despite all the issues going around; the positive thing is that at least the government and other private non-profit organizations are still making a way to help others who may be in particular need.
